I have always needed to express myself creatively. One of my favorite quotations is from Henry David Thoreau, "I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright". This is what I try to accomplish with each piece I create.

In college I studied fashion design and interior design which led to my love of textiles and weaving. For many years my passion was creating both wearable art and sculptured textiles. After moving to Maine I started spending more time along the coast and in the forests and began keeping a drawing journal. Eventually I started cutting my drawings and paintings and weaving them together. This led to an exploration of the connectedness of different realities and points in time and the importance of being in balance with nature.

I still "weave" together different subjects from nature and alternate realities in my pieces. I have been lucky enough to travel extensively and have photographed many interesting subjects to use as references for my work. My studio is filled with collections of bones, feathers, rocks, etc, all housed in large apothecary jars lining the walls. All of my experiences have accumulated into my own visual vocabulary of the natural world.

Currently my attention is focused on the many environmental problems the planet is facing. I want my work to provoke thought and generate action to preserve the beauty of the planet and the spiritual nature of all things.
